Current developments in vocational education and training

 

 

 

Ward Educational Consulting has a wide knowledge of current developments in the learning and skills sector, as well as the history of vocational education and training over the past 20 years.  This provides an invaluable background for consultancy work.

 

 

Examples of  projects undertaken:

 

·        Major contribution to the UK report (to CEDEFOP) on progress in the policy priority areas for Vocational Education and Training (QCA, 2008)

 

·        Contributions to the UK Study (for OECD) on the Recognition of Non-Formal and Informal Learning (QCA, 2007)

 

·        Work on CEDEFOP publications describing the system of vocational education and training in the UK  (QCA for CEDEFOP) - writing sections of the thematic review, Continuing Education and Training in the UK (2003-04), revising sections of the Thematic Overview of VET in the UK (2004) and of Initial VET in the UK (2005) and writing sections of Theme 3 Institutional Framework (2005)

 

·        Provision of news items for the Learning and Skills Update on the members-only website pages of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD, 2003-06)

 

And (during employment with Guildford Educational Services Ltd):

 

·        Provision of news items for CIPD, as above

 

·        Writing and editing a wide range of articles and news items for EDUCA (published by Guildford Educational Services Ltd), covering developments in post-16 education and training (1985-2003)

 

·        Commissioning and editing articles on ‘NVQ Implementation in Action' for Competence and Assessment (Employment Department).
